What is blepharoplasty?
Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery corrects droopy, sagging upper eyelids or puffy lower eyelids that make you look tired or older than you are. This procedure can transform the skin around your eyes, giving you a more youthful appearance.
What does blepharoplasty do?
After Dr. Funk makes a small incision in the upper or lower eyelid, he gently trims the excess tissue away. Incisions are inconspicuously placed to maintain natural-looking results. Sometimes, remaining fine lines can be softened using a cosmetic laser or chemical peels.
How long does this procedure take?
This outpatient surgery typically takes about one hour and is performed for patients under sedation or general anesthesia by Dr. Funk.
How long will the results last?
Eyelid surgery results are long-lasting, although aging will continue in the future. The final effects provide a rested and youthful appearance.
Is this procedure covered by insurance?
While an eye lift is usually a cosmetic procedure, occasionally the removal of the excess skin can improve vision impaired by sagging upper eyelid skin and meet criteria qualifying for reimbursement by certain medical insurance carriers.
