What is a facelift?
A facelift or rhytidectomy is a surgical procedure used to tighten loose, sagging, and wrinkled skin around the cheeks, jowls, and neck. The procedure returns the skin to its former youthful appearance. Results can be subtle or dramatic, depending on the state of aging.
What does a facelift do?
A facelift can make you look years younger by tightening loose or damaged skin. To perform the procedure, the surgeon makes minuscule incisions around the ear. The excess skin is lifted and the underlying tissue is tightened to smooth the skin, leaving the face with a more youthful and refreshed appearance.
How long does the procedure take?
The facelift procedure may take several hours.
How long do the results last?
The effects of a facelift typically last many years but, like all cosmetic procedures, will not stop further aging.
